Cruising the Dubai Creek is an Experience You Canโt Miss!
Looking for a relaxing way to spend an evening in Dubai? Taking a Dubai Creek Cruise is the perfect way to wind down after a day of sight seeing. The two hour cruise we took was on a traditional wooden dhow boat. Dhow boats are used for fishing and trading as well as dinner cruises. For the dinner cruise, we were treated to a buffet dinner, entertaining horse show, and beautiful views of the Dubai Creek. At night, the boats are illuminated with colorful lights to add to the experience. The Dubai Creek is located in the heart of Dubai and separates the two areas of Deira and Bur Dubai. On the Deira side of the Dubai Creek is the Gold Souk. On the Bur Dubai side of the Creek is the textile souks. Abra boats (water taxis) are constantly taking people across the Creek from one side to the other. We definitely enjoyed our trip aboard the Aisha dhow boat.
A Guide to Visiting the Burj Khalifa
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Dubai is the Burj Khalifa. We went to the 124th floor to see what itโs like at the top of the tallest building in the world. To get to the top, we were treated to one of the fastest elevator rides in the world. The elevator ride is such a unique experience. The views At the Top were amazing! We highly recommend visiting the Burj Khalifa about an hour before sunset to see daytime views, sunset views, and nighttime views. From the observation deck, we could see the enormous Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain. We had a perfect view of the Dubai Fountain Show from the observation deck. After our visit to the Burj Khalifa, we went to the Dubai Fountain Boardwalk to get up close views of the fountain show. The beautifully choreographed show was a perfect ending to a wonderful day in Dubai.
Insane Views of DUBAI from a HELICOPTER
We took to the skies in a helicopter to to see Dubaiโs iconic landmarks from above. The sights we saw on the helicopter ride included: Burj Khalifa (the worldโs tallest building), Burj al Arab (Dubaiโs most iconic hotel), Palm Jumeriah (artificial archipelago in the shape of a palm tree), Atlantis The Palm (luxury hotel resort on the Palm Jumeriah), Mall of the Emirates (shopping mall), and Ski Dubai (indoor ski resort and snow park inside Mall of the Emirates). We opted for the 12 minute aerial scenic tour. It went by way too fast, but it was such a memorable experience!
BEST Emirati Breakfast at Arabian Tea House
We visited the Arabian Tea House in Dubai to eat authentic Emirati breakfast food and try CAMEL milk ice cream. We ordered the Emirati breakfast platter with balaleet, dates molasses, cheddar cheese, melted Kraft cheese, watermelon jam, baked beans, dango (chickpeas), bajella (fava beans) with traditional bread (khameer, chebab, and tanoor). We also tried the Arabian Specialty Tea with saffron and three scoops of camel milk ice cream (dates, saffron, and chocolate). We highly recommend trying out the Arabian Tea House if you are in Dubai.
